To our loyal community,
As we return to Stage 3 restrictions across Melbourne, I wanted to personally reach out to assure you of Eastland’s steadfast commitment to helping protect the health, wellbeing and safety of our customers, retailers, staff and contractors.
As a provider of necessary goods and services,Eastland will remain open and trading, playing an essential role in our community, providing convenient access to food, groceries, supplies, household items, medical services, and banking, among other essential amenities. With this essential role in mind, the health and wellbeing of our community remains our unwavering top priority, and we continue to uphold a robust range of measures designed to help mitigate the spread of the virus within our centre and protect you and your loved ones’ health. For details on what measures we have implemented, click here.
On 7 July, the Victorian Government announced stay at home orders for metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire, with these areas directed to return to Stage 3 restrictions from 11.59pm tonight (July 8). As a result of this directive you’ll see a few changes in-Centre, including:
Restaurants and cafes at Eastland are permitted to serve takeaway or delivery only. For your convenience you can find details on takeaway and delivery options here.
Eastland ’s beauty and personal care services (excluding hairdressers and barbers), gyms, cinemas, and entertainment venues are mandated to temporarily close.
Please note that the above is not an exhaustive list of the businesses impacted by the latest restrictions. For further details on this latest development please visit the Victorian Government’s COVID-19 website here.
As we move back into this lockdown together, it’s important to make clear what we need from you:
We understand that the re-closure of these experiences, after they only just began to reopen, will be disappointing for many, and we thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
We all have a part to play in keeping our community safe, so when visiting Eastland, we ask that you uphold exemplary hygiene standards, regularly disinfectant or wash your hands, cover your cough, keep at least 1.5 meters from others, and most importantly, stay at home if you are feeling unwell.
Plan your trip to Eastland in advance, avoid peak times, plan your route through the Centre, and if possible, take advantage of our in-Centre Order & Collect service. For things to consider when planning a trip to Eastland visit here.
In response to these changes we’ve had to make some necessary changes to our operations.
We have made the decision to temporarily to remove late night trade on Thursdays and Fridays from 9 July. This will allow our retailers more flexibility to manage their business through this difficult period, while still allowing you access to the essential goods and services you need during the hours that are most suitable.
This means from 9 July, until further notice, Eastland will be operating in accordance with the following trading hours:
Monday: 9am – 5:30pm
Tuesday: 9am – 5:30pm
Wednesday: 9am – 5:30pm
Thursday: 9am – 5.30pm
Friday: 9am – 5.30pm
Saturday: 9am – 5pm
Sunday: 10am – 5pm
We understand that the return to lockdown is a daunting moment for us all. What gives us hope, however, is that we have been here before and are ready to act accordingly. We were there to assist you last time and we are here again.
We are continuing to closely monitor updates and advice from the relevant authorities and are prepared to act as the situation evolves. It goes without saying that our community’s health and wellbeing comes first as we navigate this situation together.
With all that said, we remain open for business and sincerely look forward to serving your everyday needs when you next choose to visit us.
