Coronavirus Update
Changes to Eastland in accordance with the Australian Government directive issued on 7 July 2020.
Published 15 March
As we continue to navigate this quickly shifting COVID-19 situation, we remain committed to keeping our community informed and providing a safe environment for our customers
As a provider of necessary goods and services, Eastland remains open and trading, serving the essential needs of those that choose to visit us.

Helping to keep our community safe

The health and wellbeing of our customers, staff, retailers and contractors has, and always will be, our number one priority.

We continue to maintain a significantly heightened level of precautionary measures to help keep our community safe. These measures include:

  • A strengthened focus on disinfecting commonly touched areas
  • Positioning of hand sanitiser stations at key points throughout the Centre
  • Installation of signage and floor decals across parts of the centre, reminding our community to keep 1.5 metres between themselves and others at all times.

While our team is doing what we can to help protect the wellbeing of our community, we all have a part to play in keeping our community safe and that means:

  • Practice social distancing when at the Centre and keep a minimum of 1.5 metres between yourself and people not within your ‘party’. For more information regarding social distancing requirements when visiting our Centre please click here.
  • Maintain a high level of personal hygiene. Wash your hands regularly (take advantage of our hand sanitisation stations located throughout the Centre), safely cover your cough or sneeze and, most importantly, stay at home if you feel unwell. Further information can be found here.

We are closely monitoring public health updates and are prepared to act quickly should advice change. It goes without saying that our community’s health and wellbeing comes first.

3.         Pre-book health and hairdressing appointments

4.         Most importantly, if you are feeling unwell reconsider your visit and stay at home

Keeping you safe as we navigate Coronavirus together

At Eastland, we have strengthened our already stringent cleaning processes by placing a heightened focus on sanitising high-touch points with high-grade disinfectant as well as increasing the number of cleaning rotations each day. We have placed hand sanitation units throughout the centre and at key entries for customers to use on entry, exit, and during your visit.

We have placed Australian Government-issued information posters in our bathrooms, which outline crucial information on how you can help stop the spread of Covid-19. We have also rolled out public hygiene advertisements across the centre to reinforce preventative measures that each of us should adopt.

To protect yourself and those around you, we ask every member of our community to adopt safe physical distancing measures while visiting the centre. This includes avoiding crowded areas and maintaining adequate space of at least two metres between yourself and others when queuing or moving through the centre.

We continue to work in close collaboration with our retailers to ensure that we are all doing our part to keep our shared environments clean and safe while keeping our team members up to date with new information and advice from the relevant authorities.

In addition to these measures, we have also:

  • Rolled out signage and floor decals across the Centre, reminding our community to socially distance.
  • Adjusted air-conditioning systems to maximise the intake of fresh air, ensuring quality air is circulated throughout the Centre at all times.
  • Temporarily closed all play areas and food court and communal seating areas, and suspended our planned program of in-Centre events until further notice.

We are closely monitoring public health updates and are prepared to act quickly should advice change. It goes without saying that our community’s health and wellbeing comes first.

We ask for your support in making sure Eastland continues to be a place of kindness and compassion for all our customers and staff throughout this unprecedented situation. We also encourage all customers commit to social distancing whilst visiting.

With all that said, we remain open for business and sincerely look forward to seeing you at Eastland.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we all adjust to a rapidly changing reality, and the many changes that have come with it.
