Eastland is proud to support the people who care for those who are most vulnerable, isolated and rejected in our community.

Every day, the Salvation Army Ringwood strives to build a healthy community by forming support networks and services, tackling the social systems that strip away human dignity, investing themselves in relationships that promote mutual flourishing and simply being there when people need them most.

Here at Eastland, we are thrilled to continue our longstanding community partnership with the Salvation Army Ringwood and are especially proud to support the people who care for those who are most vulnerable, isolated and rejected in our community.

A proud partnership

As one of their major fundraising partners in 2019, Eastland raised over $37,000 thanks to several centre initiatives including The Salvation Army Gift Wrapping, The Salvation Army Face Painting at the Christmas Carnival, The Salvation Army Tin Rattling and Marching Band, and ongoing sales of tote bags designed by local artist Pigeon Gillian.

To commemorate the Salvation Army Ringwood’s 100th Anniversary in March 2020, Eastland also hosted an in-centre display that showcased historic memorabilia such as antique uniforms, musical instruments and community flags.

2021 proved to be another challenging year for our local and wider Victorian communities; and whilst we all adapt and recover from the effects of the global pandemic; families, friends, businesses, and community groups have rallied together to provide each other vital care and support more than ever.

To ensure our community front line carers were supported in one of the most difficult years, a multi fundraising campaign was launched to drive urgent donations and support to the Ringwood Salvation Army. Fundraising initiatives included gift wrapping appeal, tin rattling, brass band performances, and ongoing sales of tote bags and Christmas cards designed by local artist Pigeon Gillian.

Through all fundraising efforts Eastland raised $20,775 towards the Ringwood Salvation Army.

Digital Doorknock for the Red Shield Appeal

Our latest fundraising initiative for the Ringwood Salvation Army in 2020 includes a digital doorknock campaign for the Red Shield Appeal, for which we are aiming to raise $5,000. In these strange and unprecedented times, we know that the services this incredible community offers will be in high demand as people face the financial and social fallout of this recent, global event.

So, if you can spare anything at all, please jump online and donate to our digital doorknock today.

As for the future? Here at Eastland, we have no doubt that the days to come will be full of exciting collaborations and ongoing support for our families in Maroondah and the surrounding area. Together with The Salvation Army Ringwood, we’ll strive to carry out their mission to live, love and fight for everyone in need.

With your help, we can continue to support The Salvation Army Ringwood and together build a healthy, happy community.
