As severe bushfires ravage communities across Australia at an unprecedented level, our thoughts are with those affected by this national disaster. To the courageous teams, including firefighters, volunteers and emergency services personnel at the front line who are working tirelessly to keep Australian communities safe - thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
In response to the ongoing crisis, we are teaming up with the Australian Red Cross to establish donation stations at Eastland. Once established, we encourage our community to donate directly to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund, which is providing vital services on the ground and supporting communities devastated by the fires, via these donation points. We are mindful of the tremendous outpouring of support across Australia for the charity and ask for your patience while we work closely with the Australian Red Cross to roll out these collection stations as quickly as possible. In the meantime, please donate directly via https://www.redcross.org.au/.
Our team will be donating their time by manning these donation collection points, with support from QIC’s head office teams. This fundraising drive will be amplified nationally across 22 of QIC’s Australian shopping centres. QIC has also kick-started our national collection campaign with a donation to the Australian Red Cross and NSW Wildlife, Rescue and Education Service (WIRES).
In combination with this national fundraising drive for the Australian Red Cross, we are partnering with a range of local registered charities to raise funds, supplies and goodwill for those affected by these devastating fires. Keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram pages and website for more information on these local efforts.
Our retail partners are also working hard to support those affected and there are many ways you can get involved. To see the list of our retailers taking part and how you can help please keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram pages and website.
This is only the beginning, and we are now working out next steps for how we can continue to provide support to the affected communities during this devastating time for our country.
To those in our community grieving or those who are supporting the response effort – we are with you now and into the future.
